JCAHO and CARF Accreditations

Nsight Mental Health & Wellness » About Nsight » JCAHO and CARF Accreditations

Dual Accreditations

It is estimated that approximately 19.2 percent are accredited by the Joint Commission, 21.8 percent of facilities are accredited by CARF and 56.9 percent are not accredited by either.  More importantly, only 4% of the nation’s facilities seek and earn dual accreditation from both CARF and Joint Commission.  NSIGHT is proud to join this elite group of dually accredited facilities.

About Joint Commission Accreditation

Joint Commission accreditation is the gold standard by which many types of healthcare organizations, including behavioral health treatment centers and hospitals, are held to.  Established in 1969, The Joint Commission’s Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program currently accredits more than 2,250 organizations for a three-year period. Accredited organizations provide treatment and services within a variety of settings across the care continuum for individuals who have mental health, addiction, eating disorder, intellectual/developmental disability, and/or child-welfare related needs.  In order to receive Behavioral Health Care Accreditation, an organization must undergo a rigorous onsite survey.  During the review, compliance with behavioral healthcare standards related to several areas, including care, treatment, and services; environment of care; leadership; and screening procedures for the early detection of imminent harm are evaluated. On-site observations and interviews with staff and clients are also conducted.  The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval signifies NSIGHT’s commitment to providing safe and effective care.

But what does that mean for someone who is seeking mental health treatment for themselves or a loved one? If your treatment center is joint commission accredited you know that you are in good hands. The standards and regulations that the joint commission have designed insure that accredited facilities are not only following stringent guidelines for client safety but also help ensure that clients receive the best possible quality of care.

About CARF Accreditation

Nsight Mental Health & Wellness is internationally accredited with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). As stated by CARF, “The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through accreditation that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.” The highest level of accreditation, the three year accreditation, was awarded to the Nsight Treatment Program. Accreditation is achieved after a thorough review of our mental health and drug/alcohol treatment services. Additionally, we must demonstrate that our program meets CARF’s internationally recognized standards. Nsight Mental Health & Wellness is committed to excellence in clinical care. As such, the accreditation standards are foundational to our business and clinical program.

The three year accreditation decision is the highest level of accreditation that is awarded to a behavioral health facility. It shows our organization’s conformance to the CARF standards. A treatment facility receiving a three year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous review process. It has demonstrated to the team of CARF inspectors its commitment to offering programs and services that are accountable, measurable, and of the highest quality clinical care.
