Jill Murray, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist/Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Primary Therapist – License Number 106342

Hi! My name is Jill Murray. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biopsychology at University of California, Santa Barbara. While attending UC Santa Barbara, I worked as a Research Assistant for the Attention Lab. Additionally, I completed a 60 hour training at the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center. Working as an advocate, I covered the hotline and provided crisis counseling, accompaniments, and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault and their families. After completing my undergraduate degree, I attended California State University, Fullerton and received a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, I am qualified and able to treat a diverse array of diagnoses and mental/emotional health issues.

Previously, I’ve worked at a residential county facility in Santa Ana, helping adults cope with severe substance abuse and special medical concerns. I’ve also worked in dual-diagnosis and primary mental health residential facilities in San Clemente. Recently, I’ve enjoyed working with young adults, and transitioned into adolescent treatment working for an extended care program in Anaheim Hills. I have extensive experience in structured individual, group, and family therapy settings, and am committed to helping individuals and families develop prosperous and productive lives.

I empathize and have deep care for my clients, but also seek to challenge clients to face their issues in order to better improve their lives. I do this by utilizing a humanistic approach with genuineness, authenticity, transparency, and unconditional positive regard for all. Further, I’m able to employ cognitive and schema therapy techniques, as well as being trained and qualified in the Brainspotting– a specialized treatment to heal trauma, challenging symptoms, and emotional/body pain.

I am a motivated, committed, and compassionate individual, and I pride myself on utilizing ethical and therapeutic practices. I also have a good sense of humor and enjoy working with others as a team player. I look forward to providing excellent clinical services to clients as a recent addition to the Nsight Psychology & Addiction team!
